Providence Care Hospital Redevelopment

General Info

About the Project

Project Description

The new facility provides a 270-bed state-of-the-art care environment for patients and clients and a modern, improved work environment for physicians, staff and volunteers. The redevelopment plan brings together Providence Care’s rehabilitation, complex continuing care, specialized geriatrics, palliative care and mental health programs that are currently located at St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital and Mental Health Services (MHS) buildings. New single inpatient rooms were designed to meet current infection control standards and adjacent therapy and treatment spaces now allow patients to receive care closer to their rooms. On-site clinics for inpatients and outpatients and improved teaching, learning and research facilities also support Providence Care’s role as a major centre for health education and research.

The new courthouse will bring together several of Toronto’s Ontario Court of Justice criminal courts operating across the city. The amalgamation will reduce costs, make operations more efficient, sustainable and accessible for all.
