CIBC Square, 81 Bay and 141 Bay Street

General Info

About the Project

Project Description

CIBC’s new global headquarters located in the heart of Toronto’s ‘Union Station Heritage Conservation District’ will feature two office towers joined by a “Sky Park” rail corridor overbuild. The dramatic 2-tower development (49 and 54 stories), features a shared retail podium and a fully integrated Metrolinx bus terminal. The complex brings several public amenities to the precinct (including a soaring lobby, elevated park, and renovated teamway connecting 81 Bay and 141 Bay) and links together transit destinations with pedestrian bridges and underground links (Toronto’s financial core, Air Canada Centre, Union Station, Bus Terminal, underground parking and the PATH).

Ontario’s Court of Justice will vacate Old City Hall in 2021, making way for the city to build a new, Toronto-centric museum inside the 129-year-old Romanesque Revival building. The new courthouse will bring together several of Toronto’s Ontario Court of Justice criminal courts operating across the city. The amalgamation will reduce costs, make operations more efficient, sustainable and accessible for all.
